Spearfishing

When spearfishing, you should always carry a light with you. It’s best to wear it on the upper arm of your weaker hand (so on the left upper arm if you are right-handed), so it’s quickly at hand. Prepare your spear gun to shoot and aim the beam of the light into the cave. A grouper hiding in it will give you a fraction of a second before it turns and retreats deeper into the cave.

Freediving

Make yourself noticeable and be visible! Mount a strobe on the flagpole of your buoy, and you won’t be overlooked by boats and surfers. Clip a strobe to the back of your weight belt to be seen by your safety diver.
