2bfree Superstatic Marked Rope. No stretch, grippy, sinks, and marked according to AIDA rules: The hassle-free rope with stopper.
Superstatic is the name of the freediving rope developed by 2bfree. Why? Because it has a “superpower”: it practically doesn’t stretch! Anyone looking for a reliable freediving rope knows how hard it is to find a truly static rope. Even static climbing ropes stretch around 3% to absorb shocks – that’s 3 meters on a 100-meter rope! Imagine diving to 100 meters, only to find the bottom plate at 103 meters – an unpleasant and dangerous effect.
In the Free Immersion (FIM) discipline, this is especially important. Pulling up with a stretching rope increases effort, using more energy and making the ascent harder – not only uncomfortable but also risky. Our Superstatic Rope doesn’t stretch and offers the secure, reliable hold you need for descent and ascent. It’s also soft on the hands while providing excellent grip.
Another benefit: the marked 2bfree Superstatic Rope sinks in water. Anyone who’s worked with a floating rope knows the hassle it can create on the surface, especially when pulling up the bottom weight. It’s not only inconvenient but also dangerous if the rope tangles.
2bfree knows that knots and loops often shorten the rope. That’s why the 2bfree Superstatic Marked Rope includes 2 extra meters on each side. This ensures your dive computer shows a precise number at your next personal best. The rope is pre-stretched and permanently marked to AIDA standards – one less headache for you!
Safety first: the lanyard stopper is already affixed on the 2bfree Superstatic Marked Rope, exactly 1 meter above “zero.” The stopper ensures the lanyard won’t get stuck.
